Aarif Aziz recently was appointed by DIAGEO India as a DIAGEO India, prior to that he was Head of the Human Resources function for GE’s technology centers in India located at Bangalore, Hyderabad & Mumbai. John F Welch technology Center (JFWTC), Bangalore is GE’s first and largest integrated, multidisciplinary research and development center. In addition to teams that work in the area of fundamental research, product-focused teams develop technologies for GE Energy, Aviation, Healthcare, Transportation, Oil & Gas, and Water. Over the last decade, the work done by inventors at the Center has resulted in over 1850 patents being filed by the parent General Electric Company. Aarif joined GE in May 2000 as HR Manager for GE Industrial Systems in Hyderabad, India. He then got selected in GE’s Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) in 2002. During the program, he held assignments in acquisition integration, global business partnering and manufacturing consolidation in India and USA. On completion of the program in 2004, Aarif took the role of HR Manager for GE Global Research and Black Belt for the HR team at John F Welch Technology Center. In 2007 he was promoted as Head of Human Resources for GE Consumer & Industrial, India. He led complex Union negotiations and played a key role in sustaining engagement while going through a significant business restructuring. In 2009, he relocated to Louisville, US as the HR Leader for the Appliances Global Technology & Product Engineering. He got promoted to his current role in August 2011. Aarif completed his post-graduation in Human Resources & Marketing from the Symbiosis Center for Management & HRD and is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from University of Rajasthan. Aarif is a certified Black Belt in Six Sigma. In his personal time, he enjoys reading and travelling.
